W5
W5 and The Hype Factory are old friends these days. We have been playing on the new exhibits before they open to the public now for as long as we have been operating. Wait…. I didn’t mean playing with them, I obviously meant capturing content to promote them. Aye, thats what I meant.
OVER 10 YEARS OF WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN AND WHY HYPE CONTENT.
Way back in the day, W5 where The Hype Factory’s first commercial client for photography. Ohh and it’s been a fun journey indeed.
From day 1 working with W5, we have had full freedom to photograph exhibits, shows, experiments and more. Shoots are never limited to the same thing either, every one has some variation of difficulty.
This one time (before the days of drones) they asked us if we would be able to take an areal photo of the side of their building. Their building being in the SSE Pavilion, aka the SSE arena lol. We said yeah sure, and the next day we found ourselves standing on the roof, in the wind and rain, with a camera attached to the end of a very long pole and hanging over the edge of the arena, taking photos with a tether to the camera. The shot turned out great, and was printed on the floor in one of the exhibition halls where it remained as part of a learning peice about Belfast City for a good few years.
We would be back to W5 on nearly a monthly basis. Working on new promotions, and updated images of whatever new wild and wonderful campaign they are working on.
